My research deals with group foraging of Griffon Vultures (gyps fulvus) and information transfer while searching for the ephemeral food resource. Using a new GPS-3D accelerometer tracking device and new technology of long range radio tags, I'm trying to differentiate between several information transfer mechanisms in the local vulture population such as local enhancement and information center. The local vulture population present a great opportunity to test this question due to the control we have on the food resource and due to the ability to mark great proportion of the population. The low conservation status gives one more reason to study this species. Studying what affect individuals decisions while searching for food can contribute to the conservation for this and related species.
