Behavioral ecology, ornithology and navigation.
Interest:

I am an Msc student in the Movement Ecology lab. My research will test how do learning and individual experience affect navigation performance of imprinted stone curlews. This will be achieved by repetition of navigation experiments with a specific individual in a species which is known to use “true navigation”. Individuals will be highly likely to return to their habitat due to the imprinting process which will be held by me. Movement characteristics of the curlews will be traced using GPS transmitters attached to them during homing experiments and will be analyzed according to measures of movement efficiency and route selection analysis.
